chemo number ten.

chemo went fine. i was so sick throughout the entire thing. but its over. and i am miserable.

but ava is sick too. she has her first real little cold. real congested. a cough. and a slight fever. we had a precious night with her. but i will blog about that later. i am just too tired right now.

but...

i wanted to write real quick and ask those of you that read this blog and care about our family to pray. pray hard that ava sleeps through the night. no more cough. no more fever. and no more sneezing. she is so sleepy but is not able to stay asleep sleep since its hard for her to breathe. and we do not do well when our baby is sick. so please pray for her health. and then pray that we experience another miracle for me. little pain. little nausea. and the ability to sleep and recover quickly from chemo.

its getting hard around here at the ryder house.

On a lighter note, Isabella was pushing jack around the living room tonight in her doll stroller (which was quite a sight to see) and she rolled up to Tommy and said she needed $7 for going to the mall. T asked what she was planning to buy and without hesitation, she replied, "Team Libby bracelets."
Never forget that we're all on your team. All in your corner. All counting down the days to wellness. I know it doesn't make it suck any less, but we still want you to write it on your heart.
    Love you.

  6. Praying for you guys! When our guys have a cold, no matter the age, we pull out our SuperSonic Cool Mist humidifier (from Walgreens). It is amazing how that helps with congestion. We started using one under dr orders when one of our boys was one month hold and developed a breathing problem. It really helps smooth out that congestion during sleeping:)

  11. Hey Libby! Saline nasal drops and vicks baby rub for Ava!! works wonders. (also this sounds weird, but rub the vicks on her feet and put socks on...it's supposedly helps get rid of the cough and I think it really did help Kaden! Also on the chest.)

Praying for health and a peaceful home for you three.

  12. You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

here's a trick you can try w/ ava - i have no idea why it works but a friend suggested this: use vicks rub on the heels of her feet and then put socks on when she goes to bed at night. it is suppose to help with the cough. just a thought. gerrit is sick w/ the flu and i wish i could be sick instead of him. it is hard seeing your child sick, hang in there!

  14. Hey Libby,
I was going to suggest the same things as above, a humidifier and the vicks vapor rub on the feet. Google it, it works great for our kids!
Sending lots of love and prayers your way!

  15. Praying for you all:) It's one thing when you don't feel well as the parent, but so much harder to see the kiddos sick, I've had my son sick all week, scary breathing issues so believe me we understand. I pray it passes quickly and that you get some much needed rest this week:)
